The Monday Memo # 10

carrie — Tue, 25 Dec 2012 07:14:14 +0000

I wanted to title this post, “The Day My Brain Stopped Trying To Kill Me”, but that would make sense to exactly 5 people, and one of those 5 would be me, so that didn’t really seem to be the best choice. Then I thought I should call it, “The Monday Memo That Wasn’t”, because really […]

The Monday Memo # 9

carrie — Tue, 11 Dec 2012 07:30:50 +0000

This is going to be the shortest Monday Memo to date. Here’s a helicopter view: It rained a lot. A LOT. I mean, a LOT. Aqua-planing while driving up and down hills kind of a lot. I was asked if I would consider being the cover story for an Australian e-magazine. Still pinching myself over that one. I […]

The Monday Memo #8

carrie — Mon, 03 Dec 2012 07:30:13 +0000

Last week, some semblance of normality began to {slowly} creep back in the door at Marmalade HQ. There was no holiday, no furniture delivery, no crazy project deadline, no construction, and not one single slice of bread. There is still considerable chaos over in this little corner of the world though. For a start – because I like […]

The Monday Memo #7

carrie — Tue, 27 Nov 2012 07:21:42 +0000

Well, last week sure was a busy one around here. It involved more plaster dust than a working pottery has clay, fumes so noxious that the “kids” all wanted to leave home, a perfect new creative space at Marmalade HQ, a visit from Bailor, a periwinkle blue leather couch, a highly frustrating number of chocolate cooking fails, and Thanksgiving. […]

The Monday Memo #6

carrie — Tue, 20 Nov 2012 07:25:10 +0000

Last week was a blur. As I recall though, it seemed very tame compared to the week before. While there were no major goings-on, there was an awful lot of exceedingly busy. Had this been a typical year I would have been in England last week. And still there this week. It’s my nephew’s 4th birthday, and […]

The Monday Memo #5

carrie — Mon, 12 Nov 2012 07:00:07 +0000

This last week bore down on me like a road train heading for the runaway truck ramp. I knew it was going to be hectic, but even I was surprised. By mid-week I felt like I’d done the full whack already. Not since Popeye has anyone been so grateful for the energy bestowed by a few […]

The Monday Memo #4

carrie — Tue, 06 Nov 2012 07:24:26 +0000

Goodness me. What a week, people. It has rained non-stop in Seattle for the past – at least – seven days, but we’re not complaining in the slightest; because people were dying over East as Storm Sandy rolled on up and over clusters of islands and huge swathes of land. Unbelievable scenes of devastation and […]

The Monday Memo #3

carrie — Tue, 30 Oct 2012 07:45:40 +0000

I don’t know where the time goes. Lately, much of mine has been spent in the kitchen whipping up scrumptious *SANE stuff for you. I get the biggest rush getting down and dirty with a pile of veggies, a splash of coconut milk and a bowlful of almond flour, and it is especially fulfilling knowing that I might, in some small […]

The Monday Memo #2

carrie — Mon, 22 Oct 2012 08:03:02 +0000

Another 7 days just flew right on by. It’s been a terribly busy week down at Marmalade HQ and I didn’t get nearly as much time as I would have liked over here with you. The news of the week, though, has to be that I DID IT!! I finally succumbed to the land of Green Smoothies, because I know […]

The Monday Memo #1

carrie — Wed, 17 Oct 2012 05:58:40 +0000

Welcome to the first Monday Memo! The good news is, this is going to be short. The bad news is, it’s already Tuesday. Bear with me, dear readers, while I get into the swing of publishing a regular weekly round-up. I’ll get into a rhythm, and knowing you’re there – cheering from the sidelines – well, that […]
